Lasonic i931 Retro portable music system

This Lasonic i931 reminds me the cassette player at my home when I was a kid. If you born early of 80’s or even earlier than that then you definitely have saw this kind of music player. 80’s hip hop’s lovers use to carry this kind of music player on their shoulder and do the break dance on the street. And it was the coolest thing at that moment.

However this Lasonic i931 is not for cassette anymore. Instead it is portable music system for iPod dock, usb port, or SD/MMC card slot. That’s mean you can play your music files that store at your ipod, usb flash drive or cell phone memory card. In addition, the i931 has AM/FM radio, remote, mic input, and bass and treble EQ controls. Pretty comprehensive. Cool!

Before the semiconductor has been invented, the Vacuum Tube were critical to the development of electronic technology, which drove the expansion and commercialization of radio broadcasting, television, radar, sound reproduction, large telephone networks, analog and digital computers, and industrial process control. However, nowadays the vacuum tube is rarely seen on electronic devices. Frankly, Besides from books, I never see a real vacuum tube until I see this – The Vacuum Tube Radio.

TheJonas Damon 2B Ltd. Edition Vacuum Tube Radio uses three vacuum tubes to broadcast signals in big, warm, radiant sound. The radio work for AM/FM tuner of course, and there is an AUX IN jack is located on the back panel of the radio for external audio sources (CD, PC, MP3, etc.)

This is a pretty retro device. Features are pretty limited too, but people same as my grandfather’s age (born around world war II) will definitely familiar with this.

I think most of you must have your favorite music cassettes collections in your closet or store room. Yes, I am also from the ‘cassette’s age’, and have a bunch of cassettes under my bed. It is not I already forgot the existence of them, I just don’t have a cassette player to play those cassette. I don’t even know how my last cassette player is gone. However, if you like me want to listen back the ‘good old days’ songs maybe you should have this all in one audio device – LP-R550.

‘Teac Japan announced the LP-R550 today [JP], a kind of Swiss Army knife for audio freaks. Buyers get a turntable, a cassette player/recorder, a CD player/recorder and a PLL synthesized AM/FM stereo tuner. Teac released a similar device on the Japanese market just a few months ago.

The only disadvantage of LP-R550 is lack of the USB port to make it possible to plug it into your PC.
